new greenhouse....and some garden shots

after last winters big freeze which killed so many of my aeoniums and other tender things we have decided we need more inside space. my husband Julian found some old windows in work which are perfect for the job. they have been there for ages covered in brambles and stingys.
i gave them a good scrub and greased the workings. the big shed is where i house my cactus upstairs, down stairs is the work, music, and craft space. we have a log burner in there. as the shed faces south we hope the block wall will store up the winter sunshine to keep things warmer at night. also if we light the fire in the evening the chimney heats up which will then help with the nighttime temps in the greenhouse.
some of you know we run a small nursery. we specialise in succulents especialy aeoniums.
thought i’d add some garden shots.
Julian is busy with ’payed building work this week , but hopefully get more done on the weekend…
Happy Gardening
Sandra…

I agree Bob, I also think you have a wonderful garden Sandra and to run your own nursery, that's my idea of heaven. Mind you I bet its a real headache at the same time?
Good luck with this winter, I'll hope for a milder one for you although I do like the frosty mornings with the sun glinting off the ice and obviously Holly is preying for snow. Lol ;~))

its some kind of echivera Drc...
aeonium zwartkopf Cat. they like sunshine and well drained soil. they thrive on neglect. i only water them when they are realy dry. too much water will kill them.
i'm looking forward to the inside aswell....;-))
Hywel they are not double glased unfortunately. but that does make them lighter and easier to handle.

What a great addition for such beautiful plants! Have you considered painting the block wall a dark color, eg forest green, to add to the heat gain?
