TWEETING again :o)))

Some of you know that for the past week or so, Crocus budgie has been very unwell.
My computer is near his bird cage, and I spent many hours on GoY while I watched over him.
I’m delighted to report that he is feeling a lot better
… much perkier now and tweeting again :o)))
…………………………………………………………
I found time for gardening … but we frequently popped back indoors to see how Crocus was feeling.
This is our new Pebble Garden, starting to green up …
…………………………………………………………
Our little feathered friends kept up our spirits ..
Here is the cheekiest of them all …
… please turn around …
…………………………………………………………
Hello handsome :o) …
This robin helped me to dig holes for planting …
…………………………………………………………
Favourite snacks for the robin are these red berries, high up on the pyracantha …
…………………………………………………………
The robin fetches the berries at an amazing speed !
He perches on the rock, and then shoots up into the air, hovering as he snatches a red berry from the pyracantha … he reminds me of a humming bird ..
…………………………………………………………
I wasn’t quick enough to photograph him taking berries …
This pic . is the best I could get, as he prepared for lift off …
…………………………………………………………
Over by the Gravel Garden,
Truffle hunted for rare reptiles …
………………………………………………………….
The bird baths had plenty of visitors.
Gromit was on watch as usual …
…………………………………………………………..
Sometimes the sparrows bathed in pairs …
……………………………………………………………
… others preferred solo splashing …
…………………………………………………………….
It’s wonderful to see Crocus perky again …
…………………………………………………………….
We can relax …
……………………………………………………………..
… chill out …
………………………………………………………………
Sweet dreams :o)))

I wasn`t aware Crocus has been poorly Terra, he looks bright and beautiful now.
Smashing blog, isn`t it a lovely pastime watching the birds, I had to laugh early this morning as I had lots of starlings all trying to bathe at the same time, they were having a right ole scrap and Brynner was barking at them through the window.
Lovely photo`s Terra, I can see the boys were feeling very energetic, lol...

Smashing blog TT and so please to hear that Crocus is on the mend :)
25 Oct, 2011
Oh dear! TT! I didn't know little Crocus was ill, you must have been so worried? I've had a family crisis over the past week, so I didn't know about him, but I'm sure the two little furry nurses helped you look after Crocus until he felt a bit chirpier! They both look very tired now...did they have the night shift?xx The new pebble garden is looking smashing, TT, everything seems to be happy there!
25 Oct, 2011

love your blog and taking of robins i was very very lucky last year to have a robin nest in my garden i have been told that they normally nest in hedges but i had a bird box's which as been there for about 6 year with out one single bird ever going near it up until last year when i noticed a bird bobbing in and out on further inspection i found it to be a robin the mail and female worked hard for about 2 weeks flying in and out with food then one day i was watching from my kitchen window when i saw the a tiny little ball of feathers come to the front of the box and only 2 day later i saw the small chick take it first flit after that one more small chick flew two the parents only stayed for about two days then i did not see them again but i have been told that they come back to nest in the same place the following years so i am hope this is true iv not taken the nest bedding out so i hope they will return next year :))))))
26 Oct, 2011
Always love reading your blogs Terra, great start to my day. Our bird bath is like a luxury spa at times with the black redstarts diving in and out in a big splash, til the crows come down for a drink, then they all scatter :-))
26 Oct, 2011
Crocus sends thanks to Sticki, Paul, Karen, Brian, Kasy, Lincslass, Rose, PansyP, Sheila, Pimpernel, Surreylad, Nanad, Poppylover, Bloomer, Costas, Breda, Grandmage, Scottish, Libet, Pixi, Dotty, Kimola and Troddles ..
It is lovely to see Crocus perky again and playing with his toys... Often when budgies get diarrhoea, they can't return to good health, but thankfully he is back to normal now... tweeting, chirping, bashing his mirrors and bells :o)
I'm hoping the lovely robin will stay around all winter.. The far end of my back garden seems to be his territory :o)
The new Pebble Garden has greened up after the drought of a few weeks ago, and I'm very pleased with it.
26 Oct, 2011
Great news. The pebble garden is looking good as well.
26 Oct, 2011

Pebble Garden is the driest, sunniest part of my back garden ..

Thats a good sign, my sisters budgie was'nt very well last week, he just stayed on the bottom of his cage in a corner for about 3-4days, then all at once he seemed to pick up and is now back to normal, (never quite).
26 Oct, 2011
Hello Pam..

27 Oct, 2011
Hello Sandra ..
Thanks ... Glad you like the Pebble Garden.
T, C, T and C all send hugs back to you :o) xxx
27 Oct, 2011
hi Terra, your welcome ;o)) x
27 Oct, 2011
I love the photo's. I'm glad that crocus is better now. His plumage is very bright and colourful and in good condition - a sure sign he is feeling better. Birds neglect their feathers when they are feeling ill. You do have a cheeky robin. We have just had a robin visiting our feeders but I don't think he's a local, he's very shy of the sparrows and they chase him off all the time. I think he must be a migrant and he doesn't speak the 'lingo'!
28 Oct, 2011
Hi Vf1 Thanks ...
Yes, even when Crocus was unwell, he continued to show interest in preening his feathers, and that gave me hope he would perk up again.
The robin in my garden is very bold... I've never known such a fearless one... There are lots of sparrows in my garden too, but they don't chase the robin... Maybe your robin will get more cheeky as the winter progresses :o)
28 Oct, 2011
Loved your blog and so glad to see all of your furs and feathers are doing well...lovely garden ..I like the idea of the pebble garden.. :o) and the lovely bird photo's inspires me to get out and do some of my own photo work again...lol..will see what I can find in the next few days of our garden here..GF has been steadily pruning and cleaning out..I am as well..but he is the heavy worker, had to take out a hedge that froze out last year..now What to put there?
29 Oct, 2011
Hi Catfinch...
lovely to hear from you... you and GF have been busy ... It seems everyone lost a few shrubs due to last winter's freeze ... my ceanothus survived surprisingly well .. not sure if that would suit for your hedge ? There are many different tyes ...
My garden doesn't attract a great variety of birds .. mostly sparrows, robin, blackbird, collared doves... but they are all welcome ... :o)
... more pics of pebble garden on previous blog, if you like that idea...
29 Oct, 2011
So pleased Crocus is on the mend! You must have some patience to get all those wonderful pictures in the garden of the birds and bird bath.. Your dogs look so cute in their baskets lol.. I've posted a couple of pictures of my budgies Buster and Bertie for you to see.
29 Oct, 2011
Yes, I'm so pleased that Crocus budgie is perky again now!
I found your lovely pics of Buster and Bertie.... thanks for putting them on GoY... I've added those to my favourite photos and on GoYpedia Pets In The Garden... :o)))
I'm lucky in that all my pets like having their photos taken ...
and even the robin made it easy for me, perching nicely !
29 Oct, 2011
So glad to hear of Crocus's recovery - there's so little you can do for small birds when they're not well - apart from keeping them extra warm.
30 Oct, 2011
Hello Wagger... Thanks..
I'm so delighted that Crocus is perky again ..
Yes, looking after little birds, you often feel so helpless, because there's not much you can do to help. I kept Crocus warm, and extremely clean .. changed the sand-sheet very often ... and played his favourite video-tapes on the TV :o)
30 Oct, 2011
Good to hear Crocus recovered.....I didn't know he had been "propa poorly".......not been around lately.....been very busy with this and that.......(:-....catch up with everyone soon.........promise :-))
31 Oct, 2011

31 Oct, 2011

1 Nov, 2011
Just catching up, TT! Crocus certainly looks a very 'pretty boy' and in fine feather. Perhaps he just had a chill? Glad the worries are over now. Love the photos of the boys chilling out, brilliant :)
1 Nov, 2011
