Well what else can you do when the garden looks like this..
Very suitable for a Sunday afternoon at Rutland Water…
Normanton Church now a museum and the next photo is the hotel where my brother got married last year, mind you that was in June, the weather was gorgeous, (hard to believe I know)
Mr Frosty standing guard over all of his realm…..
The best way to exercise…

Thanks Mouldy, its a great place to visit and only 5miles away from us, not many people there today though, no children or dogs which is unusual no matter what time of the year it is but better for the sheep, lol, and only saw the one pushbike, " OH BOY IT WAS COLD " fabulous when the weather is good and the yachts are out in force on the water........

A lovely place. Several years ago when we were visiting relations near Uppingham we hired bikes and cycled all the way round...a nice part of the world.

It looks bitterly cold Lincs, so different to a summers day when the yachts are out and the children playing, but beautiful in its own bleak way.......

It is looking different to how it looked last year, when the water was so low and we were all dreading the hosepipe ban. Great blog thoroughly enjoyed it Lincslass thank you :O)

It beat staying home and going stircrazy ,we were surprised at how little there was when compared to our side of town but thats the way it often happens......
Yes Rogi we used to take our bikes up on the trailer but don't think the legs could manage it now, it has to be a meander....lol.

Great photos and a good blog, it all looks beautiful from inside in the warm! Good on you for not letting it keep you inside. Must admit, it was too cold for me yesterday, I stayed in and had a nap!

Wonderful blog. Delicious series of images, love the sheep, the pale sunrays through the trees.
One question - Isn't it risky riding a bicycle in the snow?
Anyway, I enjoyed watching it.

very enjoyable blog, well done for venturing outside!

It's nice to see snow scenes - from behind a nice warm window!
I like it for a day or two at most but then it just gets me down perhaps because of the circulation problems I have I get cold sooo quickly. My hands & feet go numb & turn as white as the snow!
It seems that the present snow we have will hardly have time to melt before we get another load which is forecast for the weekend!
"When it's Spring again ... " Will we even SEE Spring this year?

Louisa my daughter wanted to try out her new camera, lol, so muggins got dragged along, we already knew the roads were clear as hubby had travelled that way earlier.
Spenny we only saw the one chap and as you can see he was pushing it, was very slippery at that particular area but he did get on and ride further on..
Know what you mean Balcony, easter forecast not good for us so guess it will be spent indoors......

Oh Sue, you are sooooo lucky to live near such a lovely place! I was there last year when we stayed at our sons just outside Leicester. We have been a few times and of course to Barnsdale as well. What I would give to find a home there! My son has often said about us moving nearer to him , but we just couldn't bear to be too far away from our lovely granddaughters! So, I'll just have to keep visiting! I love your photos as well and just love that close up shot of the sheep!

Thats right Rose, I'm lucky as my grandchildren are only around the corner from me, we have to travel to visit our son as he married a Boston lass but its only an hour away...
It was freezing S'gran but we did enjoy it, sunshine again today so a lot of the snow has gone, can see a lot of flowers again now but its still bitter out there and ponds and waterbutts still frozen.

Hi Sue ..
looks a lovely walk .. cold but sunny :o)

Gralew you'll get shot if a born and bred Oakham person see's you refer to it as a village, its Rutlands county town, LOL, both those towns are really attractive and well worth visiting, in fact the whole county is.....
26 Mar, 2013
Whoops!!! I've smacked my wrist, and will remember not to refer to it as a village ever again LOL, you're right tho, they are attractive. :-)))))

Brrr.
Superb photography & beautiful scenery.
Okay, you've got the job as roving reporter. Lol.
I like the way your blogs flow.
They make me feel that I'm there & all from the comfort of my flat with a cup of drinking chocolate.
Great work, Lincs!
