My mother's red/pink roses were tiny bushes when I planted them ... I guess she would be amazed how tall they've grown ...

Thanks Cinders ..
I've let the grass grow a little taller than usual to help it recover from the recent months of drought...

I think this is just beautiful. What a lovely place to look at and to sit in.
25 Jun, 2011
lovely Terra and your mum would be proud of your garden and that you still have her lovely roses :o)) x
25 Jun, 2011
Thank you, Michaella, Sticki and Sandra ...
My mother called these her "miniature roses" ...
I soon realised it is the flowers which are "miniature" ... not the eventual size of the rose bushes ! Lol.
25 Jun, 2011
Pretty as a picture!
25 Jun, 2011
Thanks Franny :o)
25 Jun, 2011

The roses have no scent at all ..
... but are very pretty and extremely profuse ...

25 Jun, 2011
Thank you Grandmage x
Hi Cristina ... I looked up rose "Little Rambler" and that has scent, but my roses have no perfume, so probably not that variety ?
26 Jun, 2011
A quick guess TT it could be American Pillar but it is a long way away and it could be a semi double.
26 Jun, 2011
Thanks Bob..
I've had a look to compare ...
American Pillar seems to have yellow centres to each flower, but the flowers on mine are red/pink all over ...
Maybe I'll take a close-up pic this week and put on GoY as a question for identification.
26 Jun, 2011
Lovely memory roses, TT, set off beautifully by the colours around them :)

Thank you Smilerjane for such lovely comments.
I built my garden just a bit at a time, which is a fun way to do it.
Gardens are changing and evolving all the while, and, yes... not easy when you have other demands on your time, but sounds like you and your youngsters love your garden and enjoy being out there.
Good luck with your flowers :o)
1 Jul, 2011
Thank you very much.. And no thanks are needed as its just honesty ;-D Hoping to get my picture of my sweet peas and the frame i built but not uploading off my phone atm grrrr hahaha.. They smell beautiful :-D
Going back out now to dig some more soil and see what else i can do whilst Kj is at school, kezia will help (she always does) and jorgia is in bed having an hr or so nap.. so i best hurry if i want anything done today hahahahaha
